High Flow Releases - Caution

South Feather Water and Power Agency would like to notify the public that during the time window of September 22 through October 11, water flows will increase to 425 cubic feet per second (cfs) on the South Fork Feather River, creating challenging conditions for recreation.  On October 13 through October 15 flows will decrease to minimum in stream requirements.

Every fall, the Agency works with American Whitewater to ensure the sporting community knows of these higher releases in preparation for winter weather. The Little Grass Valley Dam Reach consists of 9.1 miles of Class IV-V rapids that terminate at South Fork Diversion Dam. This reach is only suitable for skilled paddlers.

Lastly, SFWPA wants to remind everyone that there is still North Complex burn scar debris moving down into the river channel, creating dangerous obstacles that are not always visible. Please exercise caution while recreating on or near the river.
